A Little Rain Never Hurt No One - Our First Full Day in Melbourne
Not to sound like a Debbie downer, but going from Sydney to Melbourne was a slight bummer. Although it’s summer in Australia right now, Melbourne was really cold and rainy. I had to run in the pouring rain to a clothing store and buy a sweater and beanie even. But, I was determined to get out of my travel blues and pushed through the chilly weather to check out a huge, popular coffee shop nearby called Higher Ground.
Higher Ground was beautiful, with crisp white walls that were covered in plants that made for a pretty brunch experience. From there, Kara navigated us around the city to the laneways - a series alleys off of the main roads that are completely painted over by street art.
As we observed the creativity, we then stumbled upon a beer garden called Garden State Hotel, which, like Higher Ground, had a great interior.
Still having not caught up on our sleep, Kara and I went back to our AirBNB early again for a night of binge watching You on Netflix. Hey, at least Melbourne’s weather was perfect for relaxing nights in!
